One day, as I was reflecting on the power of storytelling, I thought….
What if there were a space, a platform where women’s stories could be told and their voice could be heard. A space women could find and read the stories of other women. And what if, in this space, these women could find and connect with other women who have been through something they are currently going through? A space where you could type in a topic that is on your mind and find stories from other women on those topics? All of these thoughts crossed my mind when I became inspired to start this platform, Violet and Valor. I woke up in the middle of the night one night when I was inspired with the name and the vision. Violet represents spiritual wisdom, strength and grace. The word valor represents the strength of mind and spirit that allows one to encounter hard situations with bravery.
This platform will be a place for women to read and share stories that will uplift and inspire, or maybe it will be a story that they can relate to that helps them feel less alone in their trials. A place to nourish their souls and empower women through the power of storytelling.
From this space you can expect to see stories from women on a wide variety of topics including motherhood, hardships, victories, grief, overcoming, the joy in day to day and so much more! All of these stories have a similar mission – to inspire, uplift and strengthen other women.
Women don’t need to know which designer brand to buy or how to be skinnier (like most magazines prior generations grew up with). Women don’t need more plastic surgery or competitive energy. Women need inspiration and encouragement. Women need the stories of other women.
My goal with this space is to unite women and mothers through our common gifts and experiences.
It is my hope that you will find that in this space, and see this platform as a place to not only find encouragement in the stories of others, but as an outlet to express your own.
